Meet Sarah!

  • I started my undergraduate degree at Purdue University in the Pre-Veterinary Medicine Program. I always had a strong desire to help others, and at the time, I thought my passion was to work with animals. Although I still love animals, I realized after a year the Pre-Vet track was not right for me. I took several electives in pre-law and absolutely loved it so I made the switch to the Purdue Law and Society major in 2020. I worked at my local Legal Aid and Department of Child Services before attending law school which further ignited my passion for service via the legal field. My ultimate inspiration for law school is to help others navigate the law through my work and participation with IndyBar.

  • I currently do not have a specific area I am most interested in practicing. Through my summer associate position at Plews Shadley Racher & Braun LLP, I gained a strong interest in environmental and insurance work which I will continue to explore in Summer 2024 as a summer associate with the firm.

  • My biggest piece of advice is to pursue every opportunity provided during law school. Law school is only three years, and it truly flies by very quickly. Participating in law review, externships, moot court, etc. provides valuable experience which can only be accessed during the very short three years. Although the class workload is extensive, I recommend students find the time to participate in additional activities and gain the full experience and education law school has to offer.

  • APEX is the only in-person bar prep course in Indiana. This format provides invaluable, face-to-face learning in a collaborative environment. Furthermore, APEX is taught by Indianapolis attorneys who are experts in their respective fields. I am taking the APEX bar prep course to ensure I remain motivated and on-task throughout the course and to learn from other members of the Indianapolis legal community whom I will be working with in the future.
